Hi! I’m Luksamee. The kitchen has always felt like home to me. As a child, I spent hours watching my mother craft beautiful dishes, often with me by her side, and I saw how much joy those meals brought to our family. That’s where my love for food began: not just in the flavors, but in the way it brings people together. I was raised on a farm in rural Thailand, and like many hardworking families, mine hoped I would pursue a stable government job. I followed that path for many years, both in Thailand and later after moving to Louisiana. And while I made my family proud, I always felt like something was missing.

What I missed was the energy of the kitchen: the fast pace, the creativity, and the chance to create meaningful experiences for others through food. Over time, that quiet pull became a clear calling. I wanted to open a restaurant that reflected the same love, hospitality, and connection I grew up with. At Thai Zaap, every dish is made with heart, passion, and purpose.
